The Devastating Impact of Financial Toxicity

The unexpected additional costs of cancer treatments, plus the loss of income due to the inability to work or working less hours, can lead to “financial toxicity.” The stress and anxiety of a diagnosis is then heightened with the added financial burden of trying to meet everyday living expenses.

Stories of Hope and Impact

“Go Jen Go was sent from God and helped me have one less thing to worry about. To donors and supporters, thank you! This journey that we are on is not easy. Without this organization some of us would be lost.”

Stephanie, was diagnosed in 2017 with Stage 2 breast cancer and declared cancer-free in 2022. Then, just three months later, her cancer came back as Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Go Jen Go provided her with financial assistance when she could not go back to work and paid for her car repairs after it broke down so she could get to her appointments and treatments.

“It was nice to be able to recover knowing my children would be doing an activity they enjoyed and having this support during my healing process. Go Jen Go opened my eyes to how important local charities are and the real impact they have on patients and families affected. I’m incredibly grateful.”

Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2022 after finding a lump on the morning of her 42 birthday. Go Jen Go provided her with financial assistance during her treatment, holiday gifts for her family through Spread the Joy and supported her children with summer camp through the Mood Williams Camp Scholarship Fund.
